My Films watched as an Unlimited cinema card holder Year 1

I'd been meaning to keep track of how many times I visit the cinema since I bought an unlimited cinema card.  If I see 2 films a month then I have got my moneys worth so the plan is to make sure that every month I see as many as possible.  Seeing as facebook doesnt let you re-edit and bump posts I'm stealing a friends idea to use my old livejournal account to keep a memory of what I've seen.  If a film appears more than once it is not a typo but it just means I saw the film more than once.  The films are sorted by the date I saw it.

Leon
I finally saw leon for the first time last night.  I can't believe I've missed out on such a good movie for so long.

I think i see where some of the inspiration for the hitman games came from and I'm convinced its where the idea for the japanese peace lilly in Hot Fuzz came from.

Next stop nikita.

Trying to promote your book?  Heres a simple tip, don't anger thousands of people with an internet connection by condemning something you know nothing about as it may give people the bizarre idea that your book is biased and inadequately researched;

Holy shit! Ghostbusters 3!!!... Sort off
Looks like a game is going to be made following on from Ghostbusters 2.  I should be terrified that it will suck but I'm really very excited and can't wait as I love the Ghostbsuters films.

 http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=87607

Vivendi Games has confirmed to Eurogamer that it is set to publish a new game based on hit eighties movie Ghostbusters.

As reported by Variety, all four of the movie's main cast members - Dan Akroyd, Ernie Hudson, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis - have agreed to allow their likenesses to appear in the game and will supply voice-overs. Other cast members getting involved include William Atherton (Walter Peck) and Annie Potts (Janine Melnitz). What no Moranis?

Ramis and Akroyd are writing the storyline for the game. It will be set in the early '90s following the events of Ghostbusters II, and will see our heroes tackling a new invasion of spooks in New York City.

Ghostbusters is slated for an autumn 2008 release and further instalments are set to follow.

Vivendi is keeping quiet on further details for now, but more news should emerge towards the end of a week. In a statement the publisher said, "Sierra Entertainment/Vivendi Games is very excited to share more information regarding the upcoming Ghostbusters videogame once our exclusive stories reach full distribution on Friday, November 16th.

"Ghostbusters is one of the most recognised entertainment brands in the world and we are developing games that will authentically capture its humour, chills and timeless appeal."

Stupid computer
Damn it!  Things seemed to be going well so fate has intervened as usual and caused a hurdle.  Windows is corrupt on my computer and i think the harddrive has major errors.  Not what i want to be dealing with in my few hours out of work.

After seeing a job advertised for a 360 operator i was disappointed that it did not involve using a games console but in-fact operating one of these machines.

A MacGyver moment

Somehow I recently managed to snap the bridge of my reading glasses.  Rachel tried to fix them with her glue gun but it didn’t work.  And then in a flash of brilliance she fixed the glasses using only a cotton bud.  So from now on she is the new MacGyver.

It'll do until i can get my eyes tested and get some new glasses.

ps.  If i can be bothered at some point i will take a photo and post it.

Banned from xbox live for 7992 years
It seems some people who have managed to sneak their way in to the closed final testing for Halo 3 have managed to get themselves a slightly excessive ban from xbox live which will probably mean that they can no longer play online and have to lose all those precious achievements they have collected and create a new account.

"Microsoft is apparently making strong examples of anyone trying to sneak into the Halo 3 Epsilon test. The crackdown came to light when a 17-year-old Minnesotan who goes by the handle "Scar" posted a tale of woe on the forums of the Halo-focused modding site Se7ensins.com. His post was accompanied by a photo of his ban notice from Xbox Live, which expires on December 31, 9999 AD--some 7,447 years after the events in Halo are supposed to take place.

When asked for comment, reps for Microsoft said the company was not officially commenting on the 7,992 year bans. However, a source close to Bungie said the ban screen "looked legit," wryly adding, "Sorry, great, great, great, great, grandkids."

Winnie the Pooh Audio books
For some reason I have 4 Winnie the pooh Audio books on cd. They're no good for my niece and nephew as they aren't interested if there's no moving pictures to accompany the sound. Anyone want them before they're binned?

They're voiced by people like Stephen fry, Judy dench, jane horrocks and Geoffrey palmer. Which is a bit weird considering i always assumed winnie the pooh etc would be voiced by young sounding people.
These have been claimed.

Death Metal Imperial March

Bourne Ultimatum

It would be an understatement to say i like the Bourne movies.  I’m not a Moby fan but I even like the song he does on the soundtrack for all 3.  The films have redefined what I enjoy in a movie and I’m sad to say that many action films I’ve seen since the Bourne series just don’t cut it for me any more.  We’ve just had a summer of huge blockbuster films and through most of them I found that I just wasn’t that impressed even though I enjoyed the prequels immensely.

I'm sort of disappointed the series is over but at the same time I'm glad the series ended on such a high and I really don’t want them to make another and risk spoiling things.  I watched the first two on Saturday so that It would be fresh in my mind and I could compare and I closely rate the 3 together, I don’t think there was a weak one amongst the three.

If I had one complaint it would be that the photography has got progressively worse during the series.  The action in the first two films was intense and looked incredible (the fights looked realistic and gritty).  Unfortunately in ultimatum it looks like the camera man is the one being punched in the guts during the action scenes which makes it hard to see whats going on.  When directors talk about putting the audience in with the action I’d like to grab hold of them and say “hey I want to watch from a safe distance.  At least that way I may get to see what’s going on”.

Shaky camera aside it was a great film, very worthy end to the series and I really liked the way the timeline of this film merged slightly with the second to give a good effect and paint a different picture of the events.

Hopefully the Bourne series will continue to influence films (I attribute Bourne with breathing stunning new life in to the bond franchise which died painfully when Die another day was released) and produce more decent character driven action films instead of the over the top special effects action hero laden stuff that Hollywood has been churning out for a while now.

Bailiffs

We get occasional letters for our previous tenant which we usually just bin.  However one arrived today and i could tell it was something bad that might affect us so was very naughty and opened it.  Turns out this guy owes someone nearly £400 and it’s got to the stage where bailiffs are involved. So this could be fun.

Anyone else ever had to deal with this kind of thing?
